Abstract

Light technologies, such as social media, are effective tools in promoting mental health by facilitating communication and providing accessible scientific information. This report describes the creation of an Instagram profile, developed by professors and students of Occupational Therapy and Psychology from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), focused on sharing evidence-based content about mental health. Each month, a central theme is selected and transformed into informative carousels using simple language and graphic resources, avoiding common-sense content. The profile has seen growing engagement, with an increase in followers and interactions, fostering health education, reducing misinformation, and encouraging self-care. The experience highlights Instagram’s potential as a knowledge dissemination strategy and underscores the university’s role in promoting public health.
